TODD WOODBRIDGE CUP
Well done to our tennis stars who competed at the 2023 Todd Woodbridge Cup!! The Todd Woodbridge Cup is a primary school competition for Stage 2 and 3 that uses modified equipment, numeric scoring and mixed gender teams. One team, made up of four girls and four boys, entered the competition from Stage 2 and one team from Stage 3. They played a variety of doubles and mixed games.
The Stage 3 students had a fantastic day in Gunnedah on Tuesday 15th August and played extremely well amongst a total of 140 players. Stage 2 competed in the Cup on Friday 18th August at the Narrabri Tennis Courts and showed commendable tennis skills.
Both the Stage 2 and 3 teams have progressed to the Regional Finals taking place in Gunnedah on Tuesday 12th September. Good luck!
DIOCESAN ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
A squad of 35 eager students competed at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival on Friday 18th August. They had a fantastic day in the sun at the Tamworth Regional Athletics Track. Well done to all our students for trying their best and showing wonderful sportsmanship throughout the day.
Congratulations Callum O’Neill and Chelsea Henry who have qualified to compete at the Polding Athletics Carnival on Friday 13th October at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
Callum will race in the 8 year old boys 100m dash and Chelsea will compete in the junior girls shot put, 10 year old girls 100m dash and junior girls 200m. Good luck!
