Assistant Principal's Report

Dear students, families and carers,

Following up from our success at the National Aerobics Championships a few weeks ago, we have another student flying to Canberra for the national Cross Country  Championships.  We know Alice will give her all,  we are proud of our students who continue to step up and shine.

As we approach the end of term we are only a few weeks away from our swimming program.  Our Physical Education teacher - Carolyn and Brooke in the office are working hard to ensure the program is the best it can be and all the required paper work is in. Keep an eye out for the permission forms online or in hard copy.

Work experience finishes this week for some in the senior school and from the feedback it has been a real success for all involved.  Teachers have been hard at work to prepare student Individual Education Plans which will be on their way soon. There are new break time activities, particularly in the junior school.  When your child/children come home ask them about the activities - some include art club, crafty chats, sensory club, puzzle club, Koorie connections and of course Lego.  The hardest decision is going to be which one to choose.

There is excitement in the upper juniors,  with their camp next week the students are focused on the wonderful activities they will be doing.  Not only does it sound like an awesome camp, they will be the first group in the school that will be using our new school bus.  In all the years I have been at the school we have never had a brand new bus.  Clearly Kai is very happy as well.

Finally a few dates to remember Footy Colours Day 7th September, Book Fair and Student Support Group Meeting 4-8 September and curriculum day Wednesday 6th September.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR A LINK TO THE PARENT/CAREGIVER/GUARDIAN OPINION SURVEY

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.  Information on how to access the survey can be obtained from the Office.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
