School Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

School Drop Off
There are only two options for drop off :
- The ‘Kiss and Drop’ zone at the front of the school is one place parents can drop students off if parents are not getting out of the car. The gate will be open in this area between 8.30-9am.
- If you want to walk your child/ren into school you will need to park in the MPC Car Park and enter through the gate adjacent to the hall which opens from 8.30am to 9am. Please ensure you reverse park around the periphery of the hall carpark.
After School Pick Up
There are only two options for pick up:
The kiss and drop line picking up from the bay in front of the school. This has not changed. Please see the infographic attached for the direction and flow of traffic looping in the MPC Carpark to enter the Kiss and Drop Zone. Parents in the Kiss and Drop zone are not to hop out of their cars and teachers will guide your child/ren into the car for you.
- If you would like to pick up your child/ren from the school grounds you can ONLY park in the MPC car park. When parking in the MPC car park, please reverse park around the periphery of the car park (this makes it easier to see students/children who may walk or run past).
Entry to and exit from the school grounds when parked in the MPC car park will be through the gate on the right hand side of the school hall ONLY.
This will take you around the side of the MPC and up the ramp to the courtyard. This MPC gate will be open from 3.00pm onwards for adults picking up their students from the school courtyard.
At NO stage are children to be walked through the staff/visitors car park, then through the gates to the MPC car park and into cars parked in the MPC car park. This is unsafe as cars are entering and exiting in those areas and there is no pedestrian access.
If you choose to park in the MPC car park, your entry and exit must be considerate of those cars waiting in the pick up line. At no stage is anyone to park adjacent to the school car park on Vaughan street or opposite the kiss and drop zone.
If you are picking up your child/ren between the hours of 9am - 3pm you may use the staff/visitors car park if there is a vacant carspace and an adult must sign the students out.
A staff member will supervise the MPC Car Park in the afternoons and two teachers will continue to supervise the pick up bay.
The safety of all is paramount to us at St Joseph’s. Thank you for your support and care in adhering to these new procedures.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any concerns or wish to offer feedback.
