Message from the Principal

St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.

Welcome to Week 1 of Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone was able to get some family time and relaxation during the school holidays. We are prepared for a fantastic final term of the year. It is always a term of many emotions: joy and sadness as we prepare to say farewell to the class of 2025; excitement as we welcome the Foundation class of 2026 and then the feelings of satisfaction as we celebrate the end of year achievements of all students.

We wish all our Year 3 and 4 students well as they head out to school camp on Monday - an overnight experience at Wombat Corner Camp in Emerald. We will share some of their reflections in our next newsletter.

Confirmation

I congratulate our Year 6 students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday 18 October at 6pm.

Haley, Benito, Edmund, Steven, Ryan, Veronica and Leo.

Please hold these students in your prayers as they make this commitment to their faith.

Arrival and attendance at school

Our school day starts at 8:50am so we ask that children arrive at school before this time. It is important that all children are part of school routines and structures daily to build a sense of belonging and connection. These structures and routines start with our line up procedures at 8:50am.

We also ask that, where possible, you avoid making appointments and booking holidays during school time to minimise interruptions to learning.

If you have already booked a family holiday and your child will not be attending school all the way through until December 17 please let class teachers and Margaret in the office know as soon as possible.

Sports stars

Congratulations to Odeleyah, Steven, Leo, Wen Hao, Marcus, Benito, Aradhana, Ethan D, Eugene and Tasvin who competed at the Monash Waverley Division Track and Field on Wednesday. This is a fantastic achievement to represent the Oakleigh District at this level! Congratulations to Eugene who placed 1st in the Under 10 boys 100m sprint, Marcus 2nd in the 11 year old 80m hurdles and Odeleyah 1st in 11 year Shot Put who have now progressed through to Regionals at Tom Kelly Athletics Track Doncaster on Thursday 23rd October.

Reminders

Students need to be wearing a hat at school whenever they are outside during Term 4. Please ensure all students have the school hat in their bags. This is available to purchase at PSW. (https://www.psw.com.au/schools/st-peter-s-school-clayton.html)

2026 Planning

We are excitedly planning for 2026 - camps are booked, concert preparation is in the initial stages and of course our building project which should finish in the middle of the year.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to St Peter's next year, but if your family is relocating and will not be returning please let us know as soon as possible.
