Junior School

Mr Tom Nash, Head of Junior School

Term 1 has gone fast – it’s hard to believe that it’s nearly done. As always, there is plenty happening in the Junior School – this week has been no exception – the upcoming fortnight is busy too. Please read below, several items for your attention regarding the operations of the Junior School.

House Athletics Event Sign Up

Tuesday morning (Week 7) saw the students of the College split off into their respective House groups; Galvin, Ryan, Keniry and Nunan. This allowed students to listen to the Heads of House and student House Leaders which was followed by breaking off into year level groups to commence the event sign-up process.

The House Athletics Carnival is an enjoyable day and is well support by the Junior School students. Our Year 7 and 8’s are encouraged to have fun and to participate in as many events as they can to contribute towards gaining points for their House.

Year 8 Camp

Our Year 8 cohort embark on their camp experience on Monday at the Lady Northcote Camp near Bacchus Marsh. The Year 8 students can expect a great experience with activities such as the giant swing, high and low ropes, yabbying, mountain bike riding and canoeing, just to name a few. Thank you to the St Patrick’s staff who are attending the camp to support the boys, particularly Mr Cue, one of the Year 8 Coordinators for his leadership in overseeing the camp. Email correspondence was sent earlier in the week to provide a reminder to our Year 8 community about the logistics of the camp. Please make contact should you wish to discuss your son’s involvement in the Year 8 Camp.

Liam Duggan Football Academy

It was warming to see such interest among our students at the information session for the Liam Duggan Football Academy – there would have to of been close to 100 students there. Football Director, Mr Howard Clark penned a letter to families mid-week with information regarding the opportunity for Year 7 and 8 St. Patrick’s students to gain a position in this program which commences in Week 2. If you have any questions about this, then please do not hesitate to get contact Mr Howard Clark.
