This Week's Updates

Dear Families,
Anita here. Dave has left the building. His plane is expected to touch down in Los Angeles sometime near midnight, our time. We wish Dave and his family a fun and safe trip.
Many of our parents attended the St James Prom night on Saturday night. It was a wonderful event. There were many sensational outfits to be seen as our St James community enjoyed each others company. The time, effort, thought, attention to detail and organisational skills of the Prom Queens Organising Committee comprising of Brooke Haigh, Courtney Drough, Erin McDade, Steph Banks-Smith, Val Murphy and Penny Brotja was outstanding. Thank you for ensuring the night was such a success.
Here is a note from the Prom Team:
What an amazing night! The St James 80’s Prom Night was a huge success, bringing our school community together for a night of fun, dancing, fabulous 80’s fashion and plenty of laughs! In addition, we raised over $2,000 for St James, which will go towards some exciting upgrades for the students.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, dressed up and embraced the 80’s theme. We’d also like to thank our sponsors Globird Energy and Woodards Blackburn, along with our wonderful Prom Queens, volunteers and school staff. Thank you also to Mark & Marie from Spitting Image Catering, Vanessa Kim from Autumn Terrace Florist, Good Cents Arty Party at Vermont South Shopping Centre, and our fantastic DJ Nick Bloomfield for helping make the night so special. And a special thank you to Karina, who did an amazing job as our MC! Thank you to everyone who helped make our St James Prom such a memorable night.
Confirmation
We congratulate our Year Six students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday evening at our St John's church. We thank Bishop Les Tomlinson and Fr Maurie Cooney who concelebrated. We thank our Religious Education Leader Josh Crowe, other Year Six teachers Monica De Leo, Tim Flintoff, as well as other staff who contributed to the student's faith development and organisation of the evening.
MACSSIS Surveys
The annual MACSSIS Surveys to staff, students (Yr 4 - 6) and parents commence next week.
We are inviting ALL families to complete a survey to provide feedback on many aspects to our St James community. Your feedback helps shape the future of our school community. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete, and full details on how to access it will be in next week’s newsletter.
To say thank you for your time, an additional link to a form will be shared along with the MACSSIS survey. Every family that completes the survey can submit the form for their child/ren to receive a free lamington on the last day of term.
