Dear Parents and Friends,
What a great week we have had. I really appreciate the support you gave us when we had to close the school last Wednesday due to South East Water completing works in the area.
What a fun Book Week Parade we had. Every child dressed up which is an amazing feat! Thank you parents for creating such fantastic costumes! It was also great to see our younger siblings getting dressed up and we even had a parent dress up! ( Maybe it was for her school as well 😀)
Finally, after 3 years of asking Willy Wonka Nate he has given me a Wonka chocolate! Thankyou Nate for my lovely chocolates - I enjoyed them on the drive home last night!
We had a lovely turnout for our Family Movie Night watching “Paddington”! The children came in PJ’s with beanbags, camp chairs and rugs! It was so nice seeing them chatting together, sharing a picnic and just enjoying each other's company as well as the movie!
Thanks to Vanessa, Kylie, Hayley and Aodhan for making the popcorn for us! Delicious.
We welcome Seb, an ex St Brigid student, who has returned to us to complete work experience. He went to District Basketball and helped coach the teams on Monday and throughout the week he has worked with Hannah and other staff across all year levels. We have loved having Seb with us this week and wish him all the very best in the future. Maybe one day we might see him back at St Brigid's as a teacher!
The MACS annual MACSSIS survey will be sent to families via email next week. Keep an eye on your inbox.
Some of our Year 6 students attended District Basketball on Monday. They had an amazing day and both Mr Cochrane and Miss Richards said they were so very competitive but also showed amazing sportsmanship! Well done team!
A group of Year 4 students headed to Kilbreda on Wednesday to participate in the LitStem program that we have developed between the two schools. It is such a lovely way to build up community and relationships and we very much appreciate the work Kilbreda do to prepare for these days. Our children always enjoy the day!
What a great selection of gifts we had for our Father’s Day stall. The children as always were very excited to spend their money and to spoil their dads!!
Thank you to the SB Squad for organising the gifts and Hayley, Louise and Aodhan for setting up the school on Wednesday.
Thank you to the SBSquad and the Year 5/6 parents who will be ogranising the yummy breakfast for our dads! Of course our lovely coffee van will be here on the day to make sure we enjoy a cappuccino before they go to work!
We still have some Principal tours coming up - the next one is Thursday 15th August so if you know of anyone who is still thinking about schools please let them know about the tour! If the dates do not suit please contact the office to arrange a different time.
We ask all families to notify the school should your child/children not be returning to St Brigid’s in 2025. We have had a number of enquiries in recent weeks across various levels. Having an accurate indication of our enrolment numbers ensures we are able to plan accordingly for the following school year and access appropriate funding i.e. staffing and resourcing. We thank you for your cooperation.
Our Year 4s are certainly very excited about their camp. We looking forward to them spending time together and enjoying some outdoor adventures.
Due to District Athletics taking place on Tuesday 3 September there will be a change of sport days next week
Our thoughts are prayers are with Cochrane family - Arch, Julie, Zac and Eliza on the passing of Arch's beloved mother Shirley Cochrane, last Friday.
Our thoughts are prayers are also with the Dagher Family - Vicki, Wally, Amani and Eden on the passing of Vicki's beloved mother, Effie Soliman on Sunday. Effie had a very long association with St Brigid's dating back to her days as a St Brigid's parent when her children attended here.
Losing a parent is an immense loss.
May you find solace in the beautiful
memories you shared and strength to face the days ahead.
Wishing all our Dad's and Granpa's a very Happy Father's Day on Sunday. I hope you get breakfast in bed.
