Repair Shed Visit

Repair Shed

On Wednesday September 10th, the students, Maddi H and I headed into Bendigo for our second visit to The Repair Shed in Garsed Street. We were met by two volunteers, Cheryle and Leone, who helped us create some pretty cool robots using items from the 'Useful Bin'.

Our robots are on display in the library if you'd like to come in and have a look.

Thanks also to families for their generosity with donating gold coins towards the visit, the ladies were very happy to receive this money!

Here are some highlight photos from our session!

For those wanting to know more about the organisation, Bendigo's Share and Repair Shed is a community-based organisation that started as the Bendigo Repair Cafe in 2017 and has since grown to include a Tool Library, Re-Makery, Useful Bin, Food is Free Table and a range of other ‘re’ and ‘up’ cycling services.

They also offer a ‘one stop’ recycling drop-off for small items, a Community Swap table where people can pick up and/or drop off useful items, and run workshops (run by experienced volunteers), and provide education and general information about recycling, upcycling and reusing.

Thanks,

Bron Coffey
