Principal's Message

Kaileen Carr

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to Term 4. I hope everyone had a relaxing and restful break.

There is a lot on the calendar this term. Please make sure you are checking the school calendar on School Bytes and that you are responding to permission requests promptly.

The P&C are in desperate need of volunteers for the Bunnings BBQ on Saturday 17 October. Please check our Facebook page for the link to volunteer some time to help. There is also an email which was sent out today with the link.

On Monday all staff participated in Professional Development to refine our whole school behaviour procedures to ensure they align with the new Student Code of Conduct. A parent information session will be held on Wednesday 18 November at 6:00pm. At this meeting we will be seeking parent feedback prior to the development of our School Behaviour Support and Management Plan. Please mark this date in your calendars.

Year 6 students from our school have recently undertaken an education tour of the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government contributed funding to our school in the amount of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs.

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all NSW public school students. It applies to all school activities, both on and off the school site, including online, and how students conduct themselves individually and with other students, teachers, school staff and community members.

Teachers will continue to refer to the Student Code of Conduct throughout Terms 3 and 4 to ensure all students have a clear understanding of the expectations and the positive behaviours that help create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.
