All Saints/All Souls Day Liturgy

On Friday 30th October, we will celebrate All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day as part of our Mission Day celebrations.

All Saints’ Day honours the saints who inspire us through their faith, kindness and love, while All Souls’ Day is a time to remember and pray for those who have died, including our family members, friends and loved ones.

These special days remind us of the importance of faith, hope, kindness and compassion. As a school community, we will reflect on how we can follow the example of the saints by showing love and care for others, while remembering those who will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We look forward to celebrating this special day together as a community of faith. The liturgy will take place in the multi-purpose room at 10:00am, everyone is welcome to join us for this liturgy.

Mission Day Activities

On Friday, 30th October, Sacred Heat will hold its annual  Mission Day Fete to raise money for those who are less fortunate. The fete will begin at 11:30am and finish at 1:15pm. This year any money raised will go towards the Colac Kindness Network. This is a volunteer-run charity supporting people experiencing hardship in the Colac community. They provide food, essential items, clothing and practical support to people in need, helping bridge gaps in local services and ensuring everyone has access to care and support when they need it.

Each Year level will have their own activities. More information will be sent home to families by their Year level teachers.

For Mission Day, we ask that students bring no more than $5 to spend on a few  special treats. If possible, could this please be sent in a combination of 50 cent pieces and/or $1 coins to make purchasing their treats easier.

Year 3 Camp

The Year 3 Camp will be an exciting two-day adventure, including an overnight stay at the Thomas Carr College – Good Samaritan Campus in Coragulac. During camp, students will explore some of our region’s most significant landmarks and local attractions. One day will include visits to the Twelve Apostles and Port Campbell. The other day will take students to Red Rock, the Cororooke playground, and along the Old Beechy Line to Gellibrand. They will also enjoy a park search and lunch at Rex Norman Park in Gellibrand. In the event of inclement weather, alternative activities will be organised at Gellibrand Hall.

This camp provides a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with their learning from throughout the year, exploring the special places, history and geography of our local area. Students are asked to arrive at school at 8:30 am on Thursday, 5 November, ready for a 9:00am departure. We will return to school on Friday, 6 November, in time for the usual dismissal. We look forward to an enjoyable and memorable camp experience for all our Year 3 students.
