Mrs Ryan's Fortnightly Reflections

Welcome to Term 4! It has been a phenomenal start to the term. Our staff have returned refreshed and ready for another jam-packed term of fun and learning. Our learners are also well rested, energetic, and filling our schoolyards and classrooms with smiles and laughter. It has truly been a wonderful return, with learning well underway and excitement building for the many end-of-year celebrations ahead.
We have made a concerted effort to ensure our communications are thorough and accessible to families through a range of platforms. Please ensure you are regularly checking the Compass calendar, the newsletter, and the Week Ahead News Feed. We know that the end of the year is a busy time for families, and we hope to see you at several of our upcoming events before the school year concludes.
As we have returned, we have noticed that hay fever season has returned with us. While the weather continues to be somewhat unpredictable, ranging from windy and warm to cool and chilly, we ask that families provide any necessary medical intervention prior to their child attending school. If your child requires medication at school to manage hay fever symptoms, please complete a medication administration form and provide the required medication to the office. Nurse Amy is doing her best to support learners experiencing hay fever symptoms; however, the number of cases has been significant.
Grandparents' Day is not far away, and we hope families have checked the availability of grandparents and other special people in preparation for the celebration. We kindly ask all families to complete their RSVP by the middle of next week to assist with catering arrangements. We love Grandparents' Day just as much as our grandparents do and are very much looking forward to celebrating this special occasion with them.
Planning for 2027 is already well underway at St Mary's. This includes finalising staffing, educational programs, school improvement priorities, and new initiatives for the coming year. While significant planning and preparation occur behind the scenes, we remain firmly committed to making the most of the year we still have together. There is still much learning, growth, and celebration ahead, and it is important that we value the time remaining.
Planning and preparation at St Mary's are aligned with system requirements, as we are governed by CESL and our employment agreement, CEMEA 2022. Information regarding 2027 classes, staffing, and planning will be communicated to our community through our usual processes and timelines, including Step-Up Day and the standard communications that follow.
Looking forward to another great term with our learners and families.
In faith, trust and love,
Jasmine Ryan
Principal
