Principal's Message

Kaileen Carr

Dear Parents and Carers

World Teachers Day

Tomorrow, 30 October, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of my teaching staff.

Our teachers go above and beyond every day to support our students and provide them  with opportunities to learn, grow and succeed. Their  commitment to the students of Eglinton Public School is truly valued and does not go unnoticed.

2027 Planning

2027 planning is underway. Could you please inform the office via phone or email if your child will not be returning to Eglinton in 2027. If you know of anyone interested in enrolling who is moving into the area, please ask them to contact the office as soon as possible.

If you have any concerns for your child for 2027, please put them in writing, address to me and email them to eglinton-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au. The email will be passed onto me, and I will take them into account when we are developing classes for 2027. Preferences are not guaranteed.

Student behaviour after school

I am disappointed that it has been brought to my attention numerous times over the past couple of weeks about student negative behaviour across the road in the park and at the shop of an afternoon, while in school uniform. Please remind your children that the park is a space for all the community and they are to behave respectfully and responsibly.

Student Code of Conduct

A parent information session will be held on Wednesday 18 November at 6:00pm.

As of the beginning of Term 4 the Student Code of Conduct applies to all NSW public school students. The Cod of Conduct applies to all school activities, both on and off the school site, including online, and how students conduct themselves individually and with other students, teachers, school staff and community members.

We are developing a School Behaviour Support and Management Plan that will be implemented at our school by the end of 2026. To align with the School Behaviour Support and Management plan will be reviewing our Anti-bullying policy which will align with the NSW Anti-bullying Framework to strengthen how we prevent, identify and respond to bullying.

Teachers will continue to refer to the Student Code of Conduct throughout Terms 3 and 4 to ensure all students have a clear understanding of the expectations and the positive behaviours that help create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.

  • Positive behaviour at school is a shared responsibility between parents and carers, students and school staff.
  • We expect all students to demonstrate a high standard of behaviour, including respecting everyone, being responsible and being safe.
  • Our expectations for behaviour apply in the classroom, on the school grounds, at school-related activities, off school grounds and online.
  • Our Student code of conduct promotes fairness and respect for diversity, to ensure everyone feels safe and can learn at school.
  • The Code supports a safe and inclusive environment for every student, regardless of background, identity or personal characteristics.
  • The Code is relevant for all our students and their parents, carers and families.
  • All students are expected to follow the Code. Consequences may apply for behaviour that does not follow the Code.
