Catholic Identity

PRAYER
At St John’s our students begin each day spending a few moments in prayer. This gives everyone an opportunity to give thanks to God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us and allows us the opportunity to pray for the things closest to our hearts. Each class begins their prayer by reflecting on the life of one of the many saints recognised by the church.
St Teresa of Avila was a Spanish nun in the 1500s. Her writings continue to be studied by theologians today and many people still use her contemplative form of prayer. This quote from St Teresa of Avila, is at the heart of what all Catholics are invited to do and that is to be the hands, the feet, the eyes and the ears of Christ in all our interactions with others.
