Grade 3/4 Term 1 Newsletter

Welcome to 2025!

What a fantastic start to the year! Our Grade 3/4 students have jumped straight into school life, building new friendships and settling into their new classrooms. We kicked off the term with fun activities that helped everyone feel connected and ready for a year full of learning and excitement.

Wellbeing

This term, our wellbeing focus is all about understanding emotions. Students have been expanding their “feelings vocabulary” and exploring how emotions can be expressed through body language. We've also discussed what makes emotions feel comfortable or uncomfortable and will soon dive into strategies for building positive interactions with others.

Writing

The students loved sharing their holiday stories and hearing about each other's adventures. We've also been sharpening our persuasive writing skills with fun debates like, “Should we serve fast food at the school canteen?” There were strong arguments on both sides—our classrooms were buzzing with thoughtful discussions!

Maths

In Maths, we've been revising place value and practicing our addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. The students have had a blast learning about measurement, measuring objects around the classroom using rulers and measuring tapes—they’re ready to measure anything and everything!

Discovery

This term, we’ve been learning about Australia’s First Peoples. The students have explored the rich diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and created timelines showing the incredible longevity of these communities in Australia.

We’re looking forward to an amazing term ahead, filled with learning, laughter, and new experiences!
