From the Office

Raywood PS School Review - Next week we are looking forward to our School Review taking place. An important part of the review process is an opportunity for the review panel to engage in conversations with our school families. To support this, there will be a Parent Afternoon Tea held at school on Wednesday 19th November at 2.45pm. Please consider coming along. For those families not able to make it in person, the review panel may be able to give you a short phone call to provide an opportunity for every family in our school community to provide some feedback.

Family Bingo & Pizza Night - What a wonderful event we had last night at school for our inaugural Family Bingo & Pizza Night. Thanks to everyone for coming along and for joining in our fun, a big congrats to all the winners!

Jet's Gymnastics  - We are looking forward to starting our sessions at Jet's Gymnastics which will begin next Wednesday afternoon and run on Wednesday afternoons until the end of the year. We will be leaving school at about 12.45pm and returning for the end of the day, travelling by bus with Des. There is no cost for these gym sessions as they are subsidised by Sporting Schools funding we are able to access but please ensure you have provided consent for your child to attend through the uEducateUS permission form.

Upcoming Pupil Free Day - Please note that we will be having a Pupil Free Day on Friday 5th December to allow teachers to finalise student reports for the end of this semester and also complete some planning work prior to the start of 2026.

MARC Library Van 2026 - There will be some changes to our MARC Van Library next year as we say a sad good bye to Mrs. Sue Gentry being our lovely MARC Van visitor every fortnight. Sue has been a regular feature amongst our school for a number of years and we will miss her greatly as she transitions to working part-time. From the beginning of next year we will be welcoming Karen Rees to our school every second Thursday. Karen is a teacher at Lockwood PS who manages our MARC Van and we are really looking forward to welcoming Karen into our school and for her to meet all of our kids. Other aspects of the MARC program will remain the same with borrowing still taking place alongside library literacy lessons.

Values Award - Congratulations to Skylar B for recently receiving our Raywood PS Values Award. Skylar received her award for the responsible manner in which she cares for our school environment, including our chickens and vegetables. In addition to this, Skylar is a wonderful leader of our junior students and does a great job at supporting our little ones to care for these parts of our school also. Super Work Skylar!
