From the Principal

Hi everyone,

It has been a busy two weeks as we all continue to adjust to the start of the 2026 school year. Our Foundation students are now full time and taking being big school kids all in their stride.

We are continuing to adjust to the building works here, knowing that the outcome will be an amazing new learning space. Below are some images of our new building to remind everyone of what we are looking forward to using this time next year! I do try to update the students each Friday at assembly about what to expect the following week, just so we are all aware of what exciting developments may be happening.

Our Year 6 Leaders have received their badges at a special assembly and are eagerly learning their new roles. I am sure we are all looking forward to seeing all of our Year 6 students further develop their leadership skills in their final year with us.

Thank you to everyone who attended one of our information sessions last week, we hope the information provided was helpful. Please remember that classroom teachers are always willing to answer any additional questions you may have throughout the year.

Thank you also to Mr Liston and Mrs Costaras who attended the Nunawading District swimming carnival with our swimming team - it sounds like it was such a fun activity for everyone involved.

As I mentioned last newsletter we are looking for parents to become part of our Friends of OGPS (our PTFA).  We particularly need people who are willing to take on an organiser role, liaising with volunteers across the year and events. These events include - Mothers/Fathers/Special Person stalls, Easter and Christmas Raffles, Discos and Colour Runs. Without the support of this volunteer parent committee we will not be able to continue to provide these events for our students. If you are interested in supporting in a larger capacity then please do not hesitate to contact Melissa Crozier via the school email or having a chat before or after school whilst she is on Yard Duty.
