Grade 3/4 Wayne Thiebaud 3D cakes 

Students are learning about the artwork and style of Wayne Thiebaud. They are working towards understanding the key features of the Pop Art movement. Students are exploring how artists use colour, shading, and repetition in this art movement. Students are going to design a cake slice using observation and shading techniques, and then create a 3D cake sculpture using paper mâché. Students will use acrylic paint to decorate their sculpture with detail and texture in the coming weeks.
