Japanese

Students will learn words for days of the week in Japanese. Students will also learn JSL (Japanese Sign Language) for the words to explore word origins and support recall. Japanese sentence patterns with two parts will be used, such as “It is Thursday.” We will utilize flashcards and slide shows to support our learning. Students will also interact with each other in communication games and songs which mimic authentic pronunciation of Japanese.

Digital Technologies

Students are developing essential early technology habits. They are learning how to interact safely and effectively with school devices through hands-on practise, including:

Safely carrying, opening and handling devices
Learning to log in independently using their personal credentials
Building fundamental hardware control by clicking, dragging, scrolling, and basic typing using mice, touchpads, and touchscreens.

Whole-School Cyber Safety Focus

Across all year levels, students will participate in dedicated Cyber Safety lessons integrated throughout the term. Guided by the following values - Responsibility, Integrity, Strength, and Empathy - we will focus on:
