Principal`s Message

“Education is not just about what we learn, but about who we become through our connections with others.”
This idea has been at the heart of our school over the past fortnight. It has been a wonderfully busy period filled with learning, celebration, and community spirit, and as we move into the final two weeks of term, I want to acknowledge the positivity and resilience shown by our students, staff, and families.
Celebrating Our School Leaders
Congratulations to our newly appointed school leaders. Each of you has already begun demonstrating our core values ofrespect, courage, and empathyin the way you support your peers and contribute to our school community. Leadership is shown through actions, not titles, and we are incredibly proud of the example you are setting. I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year and seeing you continue to grow in confidence and responsibility.
Iftar Dinner and Harmony Day
Our Iftar Dinner and Harmony Day celebrations were standout moments this term, bringing our community together in a spirit of inclusion, respect, and cultural pride. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, or supported these events. To all our families celebrating Eid today, we wish you a joyful and peaceful celebration.
NAPLAN Congratulations
A huge congratulations to our Year 3 and Year 5 students for their efforts during NAPLAN. Despite a slight false start for Year 5, our students showed patience, maturity, and determination. We are extremely proud of the way every student approached the assessments and tried their absolute best.
Attendance – Everyday Counts
Our attendance rate for Term 1 is currently sitting at 93%, representing a 7% increasefrom 2025. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment our families place on consistent school attendance. Every day truly does count, and this improvement is worth celebrating. Well done to everyone.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
A reminder that bookings for Parent–Teacher Interviews close on Tuesday 10am. These conversations are an important opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school, gain insights into your child’s progress, and set shared goals for the term ahead. Please ensure you book in with your child’s teacher.
Looking Ahead
We are very excited for the upcomingInterschool Sports Day for our Year 5/6 students and the Years 3-6 Athletics Carnival. These events are always highlights of the school year, and we know our students will represent their school and their house with pride. For our younger students, Pyjama Day for Foundation to Year 2 is just around the corner, a day that always brings plenty of smiles.
Napier Street Build
The build on Napier Street is entering its final stages, and it has been wonderful to see our original school sign fully restored and reinstated on the Greeves Street façade. This connection to our history is something we are very proud of.
AEU Stop‑Work Action
As mentioned in previous posts, I will provide further communication regarding the upcoming AEU stop‑work action once information is shared with me by the Department of Education. I truly appreciate your ongoing support for our teachers.
