Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

Learning, Celebrations and Looking Ahead at Mordialloc College

As we move further into Term 4, there is plenty happening across Mordialloc College. From examinations and transition activities to excursions and end-of-year celebrations, our community is embracing the final weeks of the school year with enthusiasm and purpose.

Teaching and Learning: Finishing Strong

Teaching and learning remain at the heart of everything we do. As students approach the end of the school year, we encourage everyone to remain focused, engaged and committed to doing their best. Our teachers continue to provide guidance, feedback and opportunities for students to consolidate their knowledge, develop skills and reflect on their progress.

With Headstart commencing on 23 November, students are encouraged to prepare for the year ahead by becoming familiar with new subjects, understanding assessment expectations and establishing positive learning habits.

Junior School: Welcoming Our Future Year 7 Students

We are excited to welcome our incoming Year 7 students for 2027. Our Transition Night – Meet the Team, on 11 November from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm, provides families with an opportunity to meet key staff, ask questions and learn about the programs and support available at Mordialloc College.

Our incoming students will also participate in Year 7 Transition Day on 8 December, helping them become familiar with the College and prepare for secondary school.

Meanwhile, current Junior School students are looking forward to their celebration at Gumbuya World on 19 November, enjoying a day of fun, friendship and memorable experiences.

Middle School: Experiences and Celebration

Middle School students have exciting opportunities ahead with the upcoming MEX excursion. Excursions such as these give valuable experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom while strengthening friendships and building independence.

Students will also enjoy an end-of-year celebration featuring roller skating and a trip to Melbourne Cable Park (followed by lunch at Bicentennial Park). We look forward to seeing our students make the most of these opportunities and finish the year positively.

Senior School: Exams and New Beginnings

With VCAA examinations underway, we wish our Year 12 students every success as they put months of preparation into practice. We encourage students to maintain healthy routines, remain confident and take pride in their achievements.

Our Year 12 Valedictory on 18 November will recognise the achievements, contributions and personal growth of our graduating students. We congratulate all students completing VCE and VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and encourage them to celebrate the friendships and experiences that have shaped their secondary school journey.

Year 10 and 11 examinations commence on 11 November. Students are encouraged to prepare thoroughly, seek support when needed and approach their assessments with confidence.

As VCE results are released on 10 December, we remind students that a number does not define you. Results are only one part of your story and do not determine your worth, potential or future success. There are many pathways to achieving your goals, and every student should feel proud of their individual journey.

Finishing the Year Together

As we approach the end of another busy year, we are proud of the commitment, resilience and achievements demonstrated by our students and staff.

Thank you to our staff, students and families for your continued contribution to the Mordialloc College community. Let us make these final weeks meaningful by celebrating achievements, supporting one another and finishing the year with positivity, purpose and pride.

We wish all students the very best with their examinations, Headstart preparations and end-of-year celebrations as we look forward to the opportunities of the year ahead.
