We warmly welcome all families and students back to school for Term 2 after the Easter holiday break. We hope everyone enjoyed a restful and joyful Easter and had time to recharge with family and friends.
Term 2 will be a busy and engaging time for our students, with a number of important learning opportunities and events planned. In Week 3, students in Grades 3–6 will participate in the Swimming Program, an important component of our health and safety curriculum that builds students’ confidence, skills and awareness around water safety.
Throughout the term, students will also be involved in a range of excursions that enrich classroom learning and provide valuable real‑world experiences.
In addition, we look forward to welcoming prospective families to our upcoming Enrolment period, Information Evening and School Tours, which provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school, learning spaces and strong sense of community.
Further information regarding dates, permissions and arrangements will be communicated via upcoming newsletters and SIMON Everywhere notifications.
We thank families for their continued support and involvement as we work together to provide meaningful and engaging learning experiences for all students.
We warmly welcome Bishop René Ramirez RCJ, who has recently been appointed as the Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Sandhurst. Bishop René brings a wealth of pastoral experience, a strong commitment to faith and service, and a deep understanding of regional communities, having previously served within our diocese.
We give thanks for Bishop René’s leadership and ministry and keep him in our prayers as he prepares to take up this important role. We look forward to his guidance and presence among the people of Sandhurst as we continue to grow together in faith, learning and service.

ANZAC Day is a time for us to pause and remember the courage, service and sacrifice of all Australians and New Zealanders who have served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping missions. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the values they exemplified — courage, mateship, resilience and service — and how these values continue to shape our communities today.
We honour those who served, those who continue to serve, and all who gave their lives so that future generations may live in peace and freedom.
Lest we forget
Students are welcome to join the Kangaroo Flat ANZAC Day (Saturday) service with details below. On Monday, St Monica's school will also hold an ANZAC service for students.

Congratulations on the St Monica's 12-13 Girls Swimming Team (Cara, Lily, Grace & Ava) placing 6th at the State Final.
What a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition. We are proud of your effort, teamwork, and determination.

We are delighted to share that our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students have moved back into their newly refurbished classrooms. The spaces look terrific and have been designed to be highly functional, with improved acoustics that minimise noise and distractions and support focused learning.
Thank you to Y2 Architects and Lee Franklin Builders for their professionalism and quality workmanship throughout the project. We are excited to see the positive impact these new learning environments will have on our students.
