Netball
Last week we held our first Netball trial for our inaugural Development Program 2024.
We had 25 students come and trial, taking part in skill and fitness assessments as well as taking part in trial matches playing in various positions. It was great to see new and current students involved. We will be shortlisting for this program and starting Term 1. We are looking forward to seeing the students challenged, learn, persist and develop together over the course of the year.
We will also be offering an introductory Netball program, Woolworths Net, Set Go, for Junior School students in Term 1, preparing students for the Winter season. Specific details about how to register, nights and times will be communicated to families shortly. Keep an eye out for this information.
Basketball
Basketball continues to be a hit with our students taking part in skill-based sessions and competing in weekly matches. Players are developing, coaches are learning and student umpires are continuing to get the experience to progress through their officiating journey. Thank you to those parents and caregivers who transport their child(ren) to each session, communicate to their team managers or coaches and assist at games! Many hands make light work and help us to ensure that the team can participate in club-based sports.
Touch Football
Year 7/8 SACSA Touch Football went well on a glorious day for our male and female teams. Our Boys' team fought hard all day, starting off slowly, managing the win in all matches up to the last minute. Transferring skills, knowledge and understanding was pivotal to student success individually and as a team. The girls learned the importance of executing fundamentals consistently across their matches.
