From the Principal

Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope you all had a wonderful break.

We are looking forward to a busy Term 2 here at school, starting with our camping program, Education Week and our Open Night (Tuesday 18th May from 6pm - 7.30pm). Our Year 3, 4 and 5 camps are happening in the coming weeks - stay tuned to the socials for updates and photos. If you have the opportunity to come along to our Open Night then we would like to see you all. There will be tours for prospective families as well, so if you know of anyone looking at schools for 2027 please invite them along.

I would like to thank the JSC members, along with Mr Douvartzides and Miss Tiernan for the ANZAC Day assembly here last Friday and the Year 6 students who attended the Box Hill RSL student service on our behalf. The leaders will also be attending the Legacy schools service at the Shrine of Remembrance on behalf of the school, which is on the 5th of May this year.

We are in the process of making some of the new gates automatic, to speed up and ease the process of gaining entry and exit during school hours. The Orange gate (closest to the Holland Road car park) is automated. It operates in the same manner as the Yellow and Green gates currently do. We will also install intercom systems to eliminate the need to call the school for entry and exit on the Yellow, Green and Orange gates, however the systems needed are currently on back order so we are unsure of a time line on this final stage.

The easiest and fastest access to the school (between 9.05am - 3.25pm) is the Orange gate.

Finally, I would like to say a big thank you and good luck to Mrs Fatnowna who will have her last day here at Orchard Grove on the 8th of May. Whilst we are very sad to see her go we wish her all the best in her teaching career as she takes on new opportunities.
