Assistant Principal Report

Dear parents and carers,

I have been back at Naranga for two weeks now and I am almost up to date with everything. Having been away since the beginning of November last year I have really noticed how much many of the students have grown.  I must say it was nice to be back and many students were happy to see Maggie back. Maggie has been very popular since her return with many students visiting my office.

There is great news about our new building project – construction, or should I say demolition is almost ready to start.  The hording is being built as I write this report.  We expect this to be in place and finished by Wednesday which is a major part for demolition to begin. It is exciting! After nearly two years of planning and designing it is starting to happen.  Everyone, staff and students are excited, and some students are asking when they will see the diggers in operation.

A reminder that the Athletics Carnival is quickly approaching - Wednesday 20th March in the morning.  Walking around the yard during recess and lunch students I have noticed students practicing their vortex throwing.  As usual the students are looking forward to the day hoping their house wins on the day. Students look forward to parents attending and we encourage this.  If you do, it is important to sign in as you enter and please sign out when you leave. Frankston Council have very strict rules about dogs – they are not allowed inside the fence at the track.

We would also like to welcome Wendy Nunal to our staff.  Wendy will be teaching in the lower junior area.  She has been in the class for two weeks now and has settled into the role. We look forward to working with her.

With hot weather expected this weekend it is a reminder we still have some to come.  Please encourage your daughter/son to wear a hat, apply sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
