JUNIOR School
Dear Parents/Carers and Students
FRIDAY 22 NOVEMBER
Curriculum Day (student Free) + Best Fest 3.00-6.30pm
See BEST FEST information HERE
We are only a week away from the end of the 2024 academic year before students move into their 2025 classes as part of the Early Commencement Program. Preparations are underway for our new Year 7 cohort and we are looking forward to welcoming them on-site for the Orientation Day on Tuesday 10 December. It is important that students make the most of these remaining days in their Year 7 and 8 classes. There are a number of final assessments to be completed, including the Junior School Maths exams on Wednesday 20 November.
Many of our Year 7 and 8 students featured in ensembles and bands at the End of Year Music Concert on Monday 21 October at the Frankston Arts Centre. In particular, the Training Band has come so far in their first year as musicians at Frankston High School and should be so proud of their efforts! A sincere thank you to Mr Peter Sharp, Mr Ben Braithwaite, Mr Isaac Bakker, Ms Claire Rainey, Ms Gill Kinnear, Ms Peta Laughlin, Mr Andrew McAdam, Ms Kim Starr, and Ms Danielle Bretherton for their tireless efforts and love of music that inspires so many students.
We are excited to invite the school community to the official opening of the annual end of year Arts Exhibition, celebrating this year of incredible learning in Art, Media, Design and STEAM by students at Frankston High School. All staff, students and supporters are encouraged to celebrate with us at the opening at 6.00pm on Monday 18 November. It is a whole-school affair with live music from the Music Department and catering from our sponsors Down the Street Cafe and Ivan's Pies. Thank you to our dedicated Arts team for their hard work throughout the year and efforts preparing for the exhibition, which is always a highlight of the school calendar!
We will be celebrating the end of a successful year by running some End of Year Activities. On Thursday 12 December, students will have the opportunity to take part in some on-site activities, then on Friday 13 December, Year 7 students will head to Gumbaya World while our Year 8 students will visit Luna Park. Further information has been published via Compass, including the opportunity to provide consent and payment.
Looking forward to seeing many of our Junior School students and parents/carers at Best Fest next Friday 22 November!
