Footscray West Swimming Trials 2024
Last Friday, 2nd February children from grade 4/5 and 6 attended the school swimming trials at VU Footscray. All competitors were able to choose from any of four swimming disciplines Crawl, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly over 50m. Congratulations to all swimmers on completing their chosen races and giving their personal best. A selection of swimmers were successful in being selected for the School team to compete at the Footscray District Carnival to be held next Friday, 9th February at the MAC. A big thank you to staff member Marshal and to the parents who volunteered to assist at the Trials.

Swimming Report
Hello,
I’m Aisha and I’m Charli.
Today we are going to tell you about the swimming trials that were held on Friday the 2nd of February.
In the morning we arrived in the gazebo where we were all feeling nervous, as we all wanted to do well! We departed at 9.15am. When we arrived at Vic University we all got ready for the races!
There was a series of 4 events that you could participate in, being breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle. We were split into age groups and had a chance to try to qualify.
We would like to give great thanks to Stratos for organising the event, Marshal for supervising, and the parent helpers that helped to time and record the results.
Well done to the 27 students that qualified, but well done to everyone that tried. See you this Friday at swimming!!!!
