Basketball Update

Senior Boys Basketball

Earlier this month our Senior Boys Basketball Team competed at the Gippsland SSV Basketball Competition. Winning both of their games against Bass Coast and SEDA College, the boys will now advance to the State Finals on the 17th of September - good luck!

Champions Cup

Recently, we had our U15 Girls, U17 Girls and U20 Boys basketball teams compete at the Basketball Champions Cup. The U15 Girls won the majority of their games and the U17 Girls were undefeated on the day, resulting in both teams advancing to the Elite 8 Stage. Despite our U20 Boys not winning a game, they remained competitive. Well done to all teams who competed and good luck to our girls' teams!

State Finalists

What an incredible effort from our Senior AFL side!  The boys have battled their way through the finals with two outstanding performances: Quarter Final: 104–41

Semi Final: 81–46

Now it's Grand Final time! The boys will take on the best in the state tomorrow with everything on the line. We couldn’t be prouder of the way they have represented our school, our program and each other. One more game. One more opportunity. Let's go boys, bring it home!

Year 8 Boys State Footy

Last week some of our students attended the Year 8 State Football. The boys competed well against Rowville in the Quarter Final however just fell short in the end, losing 45 – 63.

Netball School Championships

Earlier this term we had our Year 9 and 10 girls compete at the Netball School Championships in Melbourne. Whilst there was only one win throughout the day, both teams competed well, gaining experience and skills as they competed against some of the best schools in the state.

We also had our Year 7 and 8 LSA netballers compete at the Junior Netball School Championships the following week, making up 5 teams in total. The girls competed against each other throughout the day and also played against Lavalla Catholic College and Catholic College Sale. The girls did well when competing against Lavalla and Sale however couldn’t grasp the win.

Gippsland Soccer Update

Well done to the Year 7 Girls and Boys, Year 8 Boys and Intermediate Girls Soccer teams who recently represented Lowanna College at the Gippsland round of SSV Soccer. All teams competed well, winning matches throughout the day, with the Year 7 Girls, Year 8 Boys and Intermediate Girls all advancing to the State Finals. We wish everyone the best of luck!
