Golden Square Students Set for Regional Athletics

The Golden Square Primary School community is incredibly proud of the students who have qualified for the upcoming Regional Athletics Championships on Monday 14th September at Lar Birpa Athletics Complex.

Reaching the regional level is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, perseverance and effort these students have shown throughout the year. To progress this far, students have successfully competed against some of the best athletes in the district and earned the opportunity to represent both themselves and our school on a larger stage.

While we are excited to see our students compete, we are equally proud of the way they continue to embody our school values of Safety, Respect and Learning. They have demonstrated respect for their fellow competitors, commitment to improving their performances through learning and training, and an understanding of the importance of safe participation in sport.

We know that our students will represent Golden Square Primary School with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship, regardless of the results on the day.

As students prepare for the event, families are encouraged to support their training at home. Parents may wish to revisit the three Little Athletics Australia technique videos to help the students revisit the technique needed for success at the different events.

These clips provide helpful demonstrations of key techniques and can be a useful guide when practising events and refining skills before the championships. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me (Keenan.Lucas@education.vic.gov.au).

We wish all of our regional qualifiers the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating their achievements. The entire Golden Square community is behind you and proud of all that you have accomplished already.
