Term 3 Update

It has been a massive and action-packed Term 3 for the Art, Design, and Technology (ADT) Domain! Our focus has continued to be on delivering engaging curriculum that challenges students while providing plenty of hands-on opportunities across the wide range of subjects we offer — Food Technology, DigiTech, Visual Communication Design, Media, Art, and Photography.

From the junior years through to VCE, students have been immersed in creative and practical learning experiences. We’ve seen Year 7s experimenting with painting and ceramics, Year 8s designing innovative products through VCD and Multimedia, and Year 9s tackling big ideas through photography and digital technology projects. Our Year 10s have been pushing their design thinking further, preparing for senior pathways in VCE.

A particular highlight this term has been watching our Year 12 students reach the end of the folio phase of their studies. They are now shifting into exam preparation mode, refining their knowledge, and reflecting on two years of creative development. We are very proud of the dedication and resilience they have shown as they near the completion of their secondary schooling.

This term also saw the completion of the Art Academy selection process for 2026. We received an incredible number of applications, showing just how popular and highly regarded this program has become. Applicants engaged in a rigorous two-stage process, including a workshop and interview, where they demonstrated their creativity, ideas, and passion for the arts. Congratulations to all students who participated — the standard was exceptionally high and we are excited to welcome the successful candidates into the Art Academy program next year.

Across the domain, there has been a clear buzz of activity — from students coding, cooking, drawing, designing, filming, and photographing, to teachers guiding them through rich learning experiences that connect skills, ideas, and real-world applications.

We invite you to explore the photo gallery included in this newsletter to see the incredible work our students have been producing. These images are just a snapshot of the creativity and energy that has defined Term 3 in ADT.

We look forward to more exciting projects in Term 4, including the much-anticipated End of Year VCE ADT and Art Academy Exhibition that will be held on Wednesday 5th November at the college.
