Principal's Message

Brock Wilson

Good afternoon to all in our community,

With the school year now coming to an end, I would like to take a moment to thank all families, staff, and students for what has been a very successful year here at Roxburgh Homestead Primary School. Since my first day here in January this year, I have felt very welcomed by you all, and I am proud to lead a community of like-minded people who are focused on making things the best they can be for every child that comes through our gates.

Please be aware that the 2026 school year will commence for all students on Wednesday January 29th, 2026. We will be having a big focus on maximising our learning time across the day next year, so please support us by making sure your students are here on time each day from 8:50 every morning. This will help set us set your child up for success in their learning every day.

We also have a School Review taking place early in 2026. I will write to you all in the new year, inviting expressions of interest from parents who wish to share feedback on how the school has evolved over the past few years. This feedback will help us with writing our new School Strategic Plan, something I'll be sharing with you all following this process.

I'm sure you will join me in wishing our Grade 6 students the very best of luck at high school. We had a wonderful graduation event on Wednesday night - it was a real credit to everyone involved. Past students are always welcome at our school, and I hope they come back and visit us again in the new year.

Finally, we farewell a few of our valued staff members this year as they have accepted positions at other schools. Please join me in wishing Aimee Burrows, Tiziana Giuliano, Danah Wood and Arjumand Khan the very best in their future endeavours. In 2026, we will also be welcoming Ronda Nahi back from maternity leave and we have a new teacher joining us, Alisha Hyland, in the 3/4 unit.

That's all for another year. Make sure you stay safe and enjoy some precious time with each other. I know I'm looking forward to spending some time in the sun with my two young daughters as well.

Kind Regards,

Brock Wilson

Principal
