CHILD SAFE STANDARDS at CORPUS CHRISTI SCHOOL
The Child Safe Standards are a set of 11 guidelines that schools and organisations follow to help create safe environments for children. They focus on keeping children safe by ensuring clear practices are in place to prevent harm, respond to concerns, and support children’s wellbeing. These standards also guide schools to build a strong culture where child safety is always a priority.
At CCK, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for every child. Across the year, we are exploring each of the 11 Child Safe Standards as part of our ongoing work to strengthen child safety practices.
This week, our staff focused on Child Safe Standard 2: Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
This means that at CCK, child safety is not just a policy—it is part of everything we do. Our leadership team and staff actively promote a culture where children feel safe, respected and heard. We regularly reflect on our practices, ensure clear expectations for behaviour, and prioritise the wellbeing of every student in our care.
We are proud of the strong, child-focused culture we continue to build together as a school community.
Please take the time to read and reflect on the attachment below which unpacks and provides an overview of Child Safe Standard 2:
Positive Behaviour for Learning
The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations
This week’s PBL focus is:
We are RESPECTFUL
(Learning Time)
We are learning to listen respectfully to others.
