Principal's Report

It has been another busy term at Swinburne.  We have so much to celebrate and of which we are proud. The first is the manner in which the students have settled into the school year, making social connections, engaging in their learning, and contributing to the kind, inclusive and diverse community that is Swinburne Senior.

Some special highlights this year have been the awards in the Seasons of Excellence by the VCAA. In 2024 four students were awarded places in Top Arts, Top Screens, and Top Designs. This is an incredible achievement, and I wish to thank all the art students for their curiosity, creativity and hard work. Of course, this work is so well supported by the teachers who continually impress with their skill and dedication. 

There has been so much happening for our students with a Term 1 Calendar full of incursions and excursions, far and wide, covering every possible area of study, camps, performances, and activities at school. This keeps our students engaged and connects their learning in the outside world.

We are continuing our work focusing on attendance and engagement as cornerstones of success, supported by continued work in developing the best teaching and learning program. The staff at Swinburne constantly review and plan to provide the students with the best possible experience. They are exceptional educators and work tirelessly for the benefit of our students. 

We are excited to introduce our newest teaching staff members who joined our school community in 2025!

Their passion for education, diverse expertise, and dedication to student success will be a valuable addition to our team.

Finally I would like to welcome our 2025 School Council and thank them for their commitment to the school.
