Principal's Report

Our school is a vibrant community where students thrive, friendships are built, and lifelong memories are made. Many of our beloved events—such as excursions, discos, classroom activities, and fundraisers—are only possible because of the dedication and generosity of parent volunteers.
However, we are facing a challenge. Without enough parent participation, we may not be able to continue offering these special experiences for our children. The reality is simple: without volunteers, events may be cancelled.
We understand that everyone has busy schedules, but even a small commitment of time can make a huge impact. Whether you can help with planning, supervising, or simply lending a hand for an hour or two, your involvement matters. Volunteering is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with other parents, engage with the school community, and see firsthand the joy these activities bring to our students.
Please consider signing up to volunteer. Your support ensures that our children continue to enjoy the enriching experiences that make BPS such a special place. If you're interested, reach out to me or email bps.parentsfriends@gmail.com
Together, we can keep these traditions alive!

Parent Helper Training Session
Thanks to Lou Tribolet and Sue Battista who ran our Parent Helper training session this week. It was great to see over 40 parents there, we highly value the contribution of our parents in our school and look forward to welcoming many of you into the classrooms.
NAPLAN
The National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Years 3 and 5 students will be held this year in March, beginning on Wednesday 12th. This is a national test that gives a snapshot of each student’s ability in Literature and Numeracy compared to all other students in the same year level around Australia. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy.
The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals which can be used to improve student achievement.
School Tours
Our first tours for 2026 enrolments have already started and we are seeing very positive interest in the school, with many tours already booking out! If you are aware of any local families or friends looking to enrol their children please encourage them to book a tour via the website ASAP.
For our current families I encourage you to let the office know if you have a sibling starting in 2026 and we can guide you through the application process. We also welcome you and your children to join us for the readiness sessions.
