Welcome to week 8.......
I have had the pleasure over the past fortnight of attending two camps at Phillip Island: the Upper Junior Camp and the Pathways Camp. The school’s camping program provides students with the opportunity to further develop their learning and social skills in a non-school setting. The activities offered valuable opportunities to foster self-esteem, resourcefulness, independence, leadership, cooperation, and tolerance. There were many highlights, and the joyful experiences will be remembered by both students and staff for years to come.
Next week marks the final week of schooling for our Year 12 students. On Tuesday, December 3rd, we will formally celebrate the graduation of our Year 12 class at Settler’s Run Golf Course, where we will acknowledge their remarkable achievements alongside friends, family, and many staff members who have shared in their journey.
Next Wednesday will be the graduating students' final assembly. At this event, the Dunkley Shield will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated strong commitment to fairness, equality, and community. We look forward to seeing many community members join us for the assembly.
This week, we also continued to welcome new students and families to our community during the student transition sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with the classroom environment and routines, as well as make new friends. A reminder that the state transition day will be held on December 10th, 2024.
Enjoy your weekend!
