Dear Parents,
We thank our Year 6 students for a wonderful service Friday dedicated to being of service to others and in particular mission. Students led us on a reflective journey thinking about how we can help others, looking out for anyone who is vulnerable and lending a helping hand.
We are continuously striving to be the best we can be at St. Joseph’s and to follow in the footsteps of Jesus in our daily lives and actions. Mary Mackillop, our role model who founded our school, was always looking for any person who needed support and we strive to teach our students to look out for others and see a need and take action. Her life reflects the values which were at the heart of the Australian story - a sense of fair go for everyone, a willingness to stand on the side of the battler, an egalitarianism, a tenacity in facing difficult situations and a pragmatic approach to life all speak to the Australian reality.
A huge thank you to Dom Taylor, Bunnings and our amazing parents who attended our garden day last Tuesday. It was such a great show of support helping us to make sure our environment is one where our students can learn, explore and be curious about.
A beautiful natural environment plays a vital role in enhancing a student's educational experience. Exposure to nature has been consistently linked to lower anxiety levels, improved emotional regulation, and higher levels of creativity and critical thinking. Furthermore, learning in an aesthetically inspiring environment fosters a sense of pride and connection to the school community, encouraging outdoor physical activity and promoting a holistic sense of well-being that directly supports academic achievement.
Thankyou Dom for your wonderful leadership in this area.

This week, our school community comes together for one of the most vibrant highlights of the year—the St Joseph’s Crib Point Art Show!
Across every year level, our students have been hard at work experimenting with color, texture, shape, and medium.
Our students cannot wait to share their hard work, passion, and creativity with you. Walking through the exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their achievements and experience the world through their eyes.
Thank you to Lisa Renfrey for leading our creative arts program. We look forward to seeing you all there to celebrate our talented young artists!
We also have the unveiling of the wonderful Dulux mural in our garden at 10am on Tuesday. This is set to be a wonderful event with many visitors from Keep Australia Beautiful, Dulux and other community groups attending.
You are all welcome to come along.
A huge thank you to Dom Taylor for applying for the grant and overseeing its production, to Lisa Renfrey for painting with our Year 5 and 6 students.
We are beginning to focus on our transition process moving forward into 2027. Transition is a very important part of our wellbeing program. The more familiar people can become with the situation surrounding the change, and the more they can participate in managing the change, the more they can anticipate it with excitement rather than fear. (Ashton, 2008b, p.5)
Our Year 6 students are preparing for the next stage in their schooling. We are also well underway with our Joey’s transition program for our new little Preppies for next year. Our Joey’s have been coming fortnightly in Term 3 and 4 and are really becoming a wonderful part of our school community. Parents of Joey’s are partaking in parent education sessions as well.
Transition also includes preparing students moving from one class to the next and our new families transitioning into our school in 2027. We look forward to ensuring all of our students are prepared for the next stage in their journey.
If you have any concerns re the next stage of transition for your child or any aspect of their education please email me on principal@sjcribpoint.catholic.edu.au or ring the office to book an appointment.
Please also make sure your child is in the correct uniform. Students must wear black shoes on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Please make sure your child has the correct hair ties and also does not wear nail polish, make up or jewellery other than small earrings to school.
Concert tickets will be released by Monash ticket office some time next week. Tickets will be $15 per ticket with a 2 ticket limit. If there are more tickets available we will inform you via text.
Yours in Partnership,
