Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader role (MHaWL) update
Over the past two terms, we have been working to integrate the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader role into our existing practices at MPWPS. Elisha, as the MHaWL, works with a wellbeing team to support whole school approaches to mental health and wellbeing. As a team, we have been working on:
- Ensuring consistent implementation of the Respectful Relationship program
- Clarifying and documenting clear referral pathways internally (within the school) and externally (to community services) for students identified as requiring further assessment and intervention
- Supporting teachers to implement classroom based adjustments for groups of / individual students
- Developing whole school behaviour expectations and management flowcharts
Next term, we will continue this work and will be communicating this through the newsletter. Stay tuned for further updates around the work we are doing in this space.
School Values Survey
The Wellbeing Team at Moonee Ponds West PS is currently undertaking a review of our school values to ensure they resonate with our vision of "We think, create and learn together". Through meaningful discussions among staff and students, we've identified potential new values to complement / replace our existing ones.
We're excited to extend this conversation to our valued student families. We kindly ask you to spare a moment to complete a brief survey, where you can prioritise these values according to their significance to you and your child. We are looking forward to capturing as many responses as possible.
