Assembly Presentations

Room 14

In grade 3/4, we have been developing our writing skills by reading and closely analysing excellent texts. We have been following the process called ‘Reading to Write’.’

We have been focusing on the book ‘Dry to Dry – the Seasons of Kakadu’ by Pamela Freeman and Liz Anelli. We have written descriptive patterned sentences based on the author’s writing. We have also incorporated our Inquiry learning about biomes and their environmental features into our writing. We have thoughtfully chosen words to help our readers really visualise our scenes.

Room 12

Room 12 wrote patterned writing based on the book, Secrets of the Seasons. We looked at the type of words and phrases in the original text and used that to create our own.

Working with a partner we chose a season and thought about what happens in nature during that season. We used the pattern from the page in Secrets of the Seasons to guide us.

So that readers can see it in their mind, we used vivid verbs and great description

We hope you appreciate our writing.
