5/6 Winter Carnival Days

All of the Grade 5/6 students participated in our District Winter Sport Carnival Days on Friday 31st May and Friday 14th June.  Students represented MPW in Football, Netball and Tee Ball.  It was a busy couple of days and our students came back with some really positive experiences.  Special mention to our Tee Ball Blue team who won their final and will compete at Division.  Thanks to the 5/6 team, Lisa, Fiona and all the parents who assisted on each of the days.

Region Cross Country 

A huge congratulations to Ned B, Isla D, Jagger D, Peppa K and Lilly A who all qualified for the Reginal Finals for Cross Country.  Good luck to Peppa and Jagger who will now go on to compete at the State Finals.

District Athletics

Earlier in Term 2 the Grade 4 / 5 & 6 students began trials for Athletics.  Our team has now been selected and 42 of these students will compete at Aberfeldie Park on Friday July 26th (Week 2, Term 3). The team has been posted on the Sports Notice Board in the gym.  Congratulations on your selection and good luck on the day!

5/6 Soccer Tournament

During the Grade 5/6’s PE sessions the students participated in a Soccer Tournament.  Each class had two teams that played off to represent their class in the Semi’s and the Grand Final.

Eventual winners on the day were ‘9 Lives’ from Room 9 who defeated Magic 8’s from Rm 8 in a very intense final during F.A.T of Week 10.  9 Lives were captained by Harriet G, coached by Johan P.  Well done to your team – Seb B, Malia, Mia H, Ricky, Carlisle, Alex N, Kosta, Fletcher, Miheli, Alexander and subs for the final Dash & Yusuf.
