Principal's Message

Respect, Responsibility and Teamwork.

Always Being Your Best.

Dear Families,

I hope you have all been keeping warm as the winter weather settles in.

Student Arrivals and Collections

Recently, we have experienced an increase in late student arrivals and early collections. While we understand that appointments and family commitments are sometimes unavoidable, these interruptions can impact not only your child's learning but also the learning of the entire class.

Where possible, we ask families to collect students during break times:

  • 11:30am – 12:00pm
  • 1:30pm – 2:00pm

Our Hour of Power program takes place each Wednesday from 2:00pm – 3:00pm and is a particularly difficult time for student collections, as many students participate in walking groups, bike riding groups and other activities off-site. If your child needs to be collected during this time, please ensure they are aware beforehand so they can remain at school rather than joining an off-site group.

Foundation 2027 Tours and Information Evening

We recently welcomed prospective families to our Foundation 2027 tours and information evening. It was wonderful to showcase our school and the learning opportunities available at Kangaroo Flat Primary School. We thank all families who attended and look forward to welcoming many new students and families into our community next year.

Student Reports

All students will receive a progression point in each learning area, with families able to discuss their child's learning, growth and next steps in more detail during Parent-Teacher Interviews on Wednesday 23 July.

Reports will be uploaded to Sentral by Friday 26 June, and families will receive a notification when they are available to view.

Tissue Donations

As we move further into winter, sniffles and runny noses are becoming increasingly common. We would greatly appreciate families donating a box of tissues for use in their child's classroom. Thank you for your support.

Staff Professional Learning

Last week, our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) Team facilitated professional learning for all staff during the student-free day. The focus was on Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS), supporting our ongoing work to create calm, consistent and engaging learning environments for all students.

Division 2 Soccer

Next week, approximately 30 students will represent our school at the Division 2 Soccer Competition. We wish all participants the very best and know they will represent Kangaroo Flat Primary School with pride. Miss Ainslie will send permission notes home to selected students shortly.

Milo's Birthday Celebration

A very special event is coming up next week for our Foundation students as we celebrate Milo's Birthday. I am very much looking forward to seeing some of Milo's friends dressed up for the occasion and joining in the fun!

Golden Ticket Celebration

In the final week of term, on Thursday 25 June, we will celebrate our Golden Ticket winners. Students who have earned a Golden Ticket will be invited to come out of uniform and enjoy a special movie session.

Rose will send Golden Tickets home on Friday 19 June, including three Wild Card entries, giving even more students the opportunity to be part of the celebration.

Thank you for your continued support of our school. We look forward to a wonderful few weeks ahead as we finish the term strongly.

Warm Regards,

Melissa Cusack

Acting Principal
