Dear Parents,
Soccer Gala Day
Congratulations to our Soccer team on a fantastic day at the Soccer Gala Day today.
The team played two excellent games, recording a 3–0 win in their first match against Bathurst South, followed by another strong 3–0 win against Raglan. Well done to all students and their coaches, Miss Barber and Mrs McPhee! We look forward to hearing the details of their next match.
NSW PSSA Hockey Championships
Last week saw Lucas Hurford and Sam Weal represent Bathurst Public School and Western Region at the NSW PSSA Hockey Championships held here in Bathurst. The boys were excited to play and learn from some of the older boys in the team (especially since they are only in Year 4!). Both boys played some great minutes on the field and made some attempts at goals. The Western Region team won a game and tied a game, playing their best against some very good opposition. Congratulations, Sam and Lucas.
NSW PSSA Basketball Championships
Last week also saw Lilly Turnbull and Ellie Surawski represent Bathurst Public School and Western Region in the NSW PSSA Basketball Championship held in Port Macquarie. The Western Region team had a very tough competition, but did manage to win 1 game out of 7. The girls scored in their games and contributed well to the team, which is a great achievement since they are only in Year 5! They had fun and even enjoyed a visit to the beach. Amazing effort, Lilly and Ellie.
CWA PUBLIC SPEAKING FINALS
Congratulations to Zoe Carter, Tate Shaw, Ashwin Buttsworth and Adeline Hunter who competed in Orange this week as our school representatives from Year 3 - 6, for the CWA Public Speaking Competition. Over 30 schools across the region compete in this competition to showcase outstanding public speaking students from primary and high schools. Congratulations to Adeline, who placed 5th in her section! Well done to these four students for being amazing public speakers and doing a wonderful job representing our school.
NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORYTIME
Yesterday, students across our school enjoyed taking part in National Simultaneous Storytime, joining children around Australia to share the same story at the same time.
This year’s book, "Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller", was enjoyed through the livestream, with students having a wonderful time engaging with the story.
A big thank you to Ms Lloyd for organising and promoting this special event at Bathurst Public School.
SPOT at BMEC
Last Friday, our K–2 students had the wonderful opportunity to attend Spot at the BMEC. Students thoroughly enjoyed the performance and the chance to experience live theatre together. A big thank you to Graham and the BMEC for generously providing this opportunity free of charge for our students. We greatly appreciate the support and opportunities provided to our school community.
