News from One/Two

What another great couple of weeks had in the 1/2 room!

Thank you to all the children and parents who have filled in their ‘Where am I From Projects’ based on our multiculturalist topic Celebrating Differences.

The children (and adults alike) really enjoyed this project. Mrs Beveridge, Mrs Darwall, Mrs Bourke, and Robyn Shaders were among the few adults to get quite involved: even going back many generations and enlisting the assistance of ancestry.com (spending hours of research).

Last Friday the 1/2 children and Preps enjoyed presenting these projects in small groups discussing on their world maps where their families had come from. By doing this activity the children became more aware of their heritage and culture; bringing a feeling of diversity to our classroom.

Our cultural excursion to the city today also looked fantastic. Stay tuned for the photos in our next Newsletter however, I am sure you may have already seen some on Facebook.

Just some news for next week. On Thursday 30th November 2023, a Book Fair will be open for students, parents, or carers to come to purchase books if they would like to.  It will be open before and after school from 8.30am to 3.30pm, or any time during the day. Also, we didn't have enough time to explicitly teach the spelling words last week, therefore we will be setting these again for next week. Thank you for understanding, with our excursion and testing week it just couldn't fit.

Please be in touch if you have any questions.
