Principal Report

Dear Families,

 

This week our school community came together to raise money for the Ballarat Animal Shelter. It was wonderful to see so many students with Crazy Hair, and the number of donations was outstanding. Thank you to everyone for their efforts, getting up early and doing hair and donating items. We are a very thoughtful community. 

 

School Council

Tuesday night was our monthly School Council meeting, and we are very grateful to our members for giving up their time to support our school. School Council has been working with the City of Ballarat to improve the accessible parking around our school, and we hope to see a resolution in the near future. School Council is also working on expanding the Fundraising Committee, and we are hoping to start a Parents and Friends Association. 

 

Student Achievements 

We had our debaters compete in the Sem–Final of the Royal South Street competition. Unfortunately, they were defeated, but I am told it was a very close debate, and they represented Dana Street beautifully. 

On Thursday, we had our Young Authors complete their last workshop. The group went to the Ballarat Tram Museum as inspiration for their writing this term. 

Today, our School Leaders once again attended the Think Tank sessions with the City of Ballarat. Thanks to all of the students and staff who attended these activities for representing Dana Street Primary School in our community.
