Prayer for Easter Time

Risen Christ,

in this Easter season

we give thanks for the gift of new life,

for hope renewed and love made stronger

through your victory over death.

Open our hearts to the joy of the Resurrection.

Help us to live as people of hope,

to walk in faith,

and to be signs of your peace and compassion

in our communities.

As we begin this new term,

may your Spirit guide our words and actions,

strengthen us in times of challenge,

and remind us always that you walk beside us.

We ask this in your name,

living and reigning now and forever.

Amen.

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a relaxing Term break with your children and a joyous Easter celebrating the Risen Christ.  We thank everyone who was able to join us as the end of term one for the Holy week presentation.

We continue Sharing the Easter story and Resurrection on Thursday in the hall at 9.30.

All are welcome to join us.

Our staff had a very full day on Monday as we participated in a Whole of system professional Learning Day, titled Ambitiously Sandhurst.

Dr Jared Cooney Horvath led the first Session 1: Igniting Learning – The research behind student engagement, motivation and mindset.

Session 2: Learning for All Through Whole-Class Instruction with Dr Nathaniel Swain Built directly on the cognitive foundations of the morning, with the focus on whole-class instruction as a powerful equity lever.

Session 3: From Ambition to Impact – The ‘How’ of Instruction Katie Webster & Katie Roberts-Hull (Teach Well).

Our staff will continue to work and implement the concepts presented.

ANZAC DAY

On Friday we will have our liturgy for ANZAC Day.  This will take place in our school yard at 12.30 pm in front of our Lone Pine tree, just near the Gallipoli Oak tree.  The children will sit on the grassed rise behind the swale.  On Saturday representatives of our student leadership team will march in the ANZAC day march and lay a wreath on our behalf at the Cenotaph.  All are welcome to join us for this.

Mother's Day

Our P and F will be holding a Mother's Day breakfast on the 8th of May, beginning at 8.00am. This will be followed by a Mother's Day Prayer to be held in the school hall.  We invite all Mother's to join us for this lovely morning.

School Fun Run

Save the Date for our Cross Country / Fun Run Day: FRIDAY MAY 22nd at St. Bernard’s School from 11.30am.

Our school fun run is a major event on our school calendar with many families joining us on the day to cheer the children along.  This event is also one of our major fundraisers for the year.  We urge all families to participate in the fun run and to make their profile page as outlined in the details found in our newsletter, the children will be practicing their cross country running at school in preparation for the run.

Foundation 2027

I strongly urge any existing families who have a child starting in Foundation in 2027 to please contact the school and advise Kristyn our enrolment coordinator if you have not done so already.

Please remember to check your child's long sleeve jacket for their name.  As we transition to the colder weather, jackets often are shed whilst playing and are easily returned to their owner when they are clearly labelled.

Happy term 2 everyone
