TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 3 of Term 1.
We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
We’re almost halfway through this term! The time is going so quickly! This week’s theme is “Magical Week”. We started our week with our Monday morning chat over the exciting things we did during the weekend followed by a very competitive game of UNO in which they created a strategy to claim victory at the end! Also, during this week, we did unicorn and a wizard colouring pages where it helps them develop their fine motor skills and imaginative skills. And of course, this week we got to use the art room where we made sparkly magic wands, wizard hats, and did free painting where the kids have the free reign to do and create whatever they want with the art materials given. It is fascinating to see how kids can be so creative and have so much fun when engaging in arts and crafts. Also, the smile on their faces as they look at their artwork with such joy and pride is priceless! Also, this week we played sports games on the oval such as soccer, football, and cricket. We played Everybody's It, which was one of our favourite game this week. While others engaged in active games, other kids were having fun playing and creating sandcastles in the sandpit area, enjoying their time with their peers at the bridge area and some were just chilling and walking around the oval. We sure did have fun this week!
During this week we have many prep children attending TheirCare every afternoon. We have 16 prep children in attendance on both Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. It is good to see how the prep children are gaining confidence and feeling comfortable coming to TheirCare and engaging with other children.
Pupil of the Week
This week’s Pupil of the Week is June Reilly for being a great helper and taking the initiative to help during pack-up and setting-up time when attending TheirCare. Well done June!! You should be very proud of yourself.
Mad Fun Autumn Holiday Program
As we are almost halfway through this term that only means that we are getting closer to our MAD FUN Autumn Holiday Program. This upcoming holiday program we have two weeks of fun in which we will be going to see the Minecraft movie, going to Kaboom Sports, and even going to the Werribee Zoo! We also have two incursions, laser tag and making bubbles! Who’s excited?
We would like to let all families know that bookings for the holiday program will be open on the 20th of February 2025. Please make sure to book as early as possible as our numbers for the holiday program are limited. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
