Welcome and overall learning summary

Welcome to Level One! We are excited for a fantastic year of learning ahead. First, we would like to welcome our students back to Glen Waverley Primary School and extend a warm welcome to all new families who have joined our learning community. The Level One team looks forward to building positive and supportive relationships with you and your children. We look forward to supporting your children embrace and accomplish new learning challenges every day. Our passion is to deliver deep and valuable learning experiences throughout the year. The learners have transitioned seamlessly into Level One and are excited to continue their learning journey. Please note, as we are a Sun Smart school, hats must be always worn when the students are outside during Term One. The hat must be a Sun Smart hat, so either a legionnaires hat or a wide brim hat.

The Level One Teaching and Learning team

Mrs Kimielle Vecchio (1A, Teaching and Learning Leader)

My name is Kimielle, but you are welcome to call me Kimi. I look forward to getting to know all the Year One students and their families. I have a passion for singing, and you will often hear me singing instructions to my students. Please say hello if you walk by and introduce yourself! I look forward to meeting you all.

Miss Grace Farch (1B, Assistant Teaching and Learning Leader)

My name is Grace and I am excited to be teaching Year One again this year. I have been playing tennis since I was five. My hair and eye colour together are the rarest combination – red hair and blue eyes! The odds of having both of these together is 0.2%! I look forward to connecting with our Year One students and families this year.

Miss Lucy Luo (1C)

My name is Lucy and I am excited to be teaching Year One again this year. During my free time I enjoy dabbling in oil pastels, boxing and tennis. I am feeling fortunate that I am part of the Year One team and look forward to getting to know each of you!

Miss Eunice Lye (1D)

My name is Eunice, and this is my second year of teaching. As a first-year classroom teacher, I am excited to be teaching Year One this year. Fun fact about me is I can speak several languages: Mandarin, English, bit of Malay and Hokkien. I enjoy playing badminton, board games with family and friends, and singing. When it comes to food, I love spicy dishes and anything with rice. If you see me around, please feel free to say hello and introduce yourself! I look forward to getting to know all the Year One students and their families.
