East Timor Presentation by Lucy Hill

On Wednesday, 2DK were lucky enough to be visited by Jess Hill, Lucy’s mum. Together, they put together a presentation about East Timor - a country they visited in the September school holidays. Lucy prepared and delivered a fantastic presentation about her visit. She spoke clearly and passionately about many topics. The grade were interested to learn a little about the country’s history; practise speaking Tetun, the national language; and also discover that the crocodile is the national animal. Lucy showed her classmates some fantastic photos of idyllic beaches and impressive monuments, such as the Cristo Rei statue of Jesus. It was also interesting to find out that the coral reef there has the most diverse amount of marine life in the world. Lucy and Jess also explained that East Timor is one of the least visited countries in the world. However, this may change with an influx of 2DK students in the near future. Great work, Lucy and thanks to Jess for coming in and sharing with the grade.
