Advent: Hope and Peace
As we journey through Advent, the first two weeks focus on Hope and Peace. This is especially fitting in a world where so many countries and people are not experiencing peace and have lost hope. During this season of Advent, we pray for those facing uncertainty, war, displacement, and poverty.
We ask God to bring Hope and spread Peace on our Earth.
At this time, where we may be feeling hopeless and insignificant, I am reminded of a beautiful quote by the Chinese Sage, Lao Tzu:
“If there is to be peace in the world, There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbours.
If there is to be peace between neighbours, There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart.”
