Principals message

Dear Families,

As we move further into Term 2, it has been wonderful to see the continued enthusiasm, learning and community spirit across our school. Thank you to our students, staff and families for the positive start to the term and for the many ways you continue to support our school community.

Education Support Professionals (ESP) Day

This term, we proudly acknowledged Education Support Professionals Day and celebrated the incredible contribution our Education Support staff make each and every day.

Our ES staff work tirelessly alongside teachers and students to provide learning support, wellbeing assistance and care across the school. Their dedication, patience and commitment play an essential role in ensuring every student feels supported and successful.

We sincerely thank all of our Education Support staff for the valuable work they do for our students and community.

Staff Instructional Coaching – Term 2

Throughout Term 2, our teaching staff have started to engage in in-classroom instructional coaching to strengthen teaching practice and improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes. Our coaches Ms Bala and Ms N focus on enhancing practice in the learning space and Mr P provides coaching with a focus on Positive classroom management systems for staff.

This important professional learning allows teachers to collaborate, reflect on classroom practice and further develop high-impact teaching strategies.

We are proud of the strong culture of continuous improvement across our school, with staff committed to providing the best possible learning opportunities for every child.

ANZAC Day Ceremony

I would like to sincerely thank our students and student leaders for their outstanding contribution to our ANZAC Day Ceremony. The respect, leadership and maturity demonstrated throughout the ceremony made our school community incredibly proud.

A special thank you also goes to the student leaders who supported the organisation of the event and to the families who attended. It was a meaningful opportunity for our students to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country.

Prep Tours and 2027 Enrolments

Our Prep Tours for Term 2 have now commenced, and we are excited to welcome prospective families into our school community. Families interested in enrolling for Prep in 2027 are encouraged to attend a school tour and begin the enrolment process. We conduct tours every Tuesday at 10am. Please contact the office to book in.

Mothers’ Day Breakfast and Walk

Thank you to all the families who attended our wonderful Mothers’ Day Walk earlier this month. It was fantastic to see so many parents, carers and special family members join us to celebrate the important role they play in our students’ lives. The event was filled with warmth, laughter and appreciation, and we thank the staff and students who helped make the afternoon such a success.

Student Reports

Families are advised that student reports will be released Friday 26th June via Compass. These reports provide an overview of your child’s learning in the subject area, work habits and teacher judgement score. As part of the in principle agreement reached by the AEU and DE, there will be no written comments in relation to learning progress. We encourage families to take the time to discuss the report with their child and celebrate their learning growth and achievements.

District Athletics

Congratulations and thank you to all students who represented our school at the District Athletics competition. Students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, determination and school pride throughout the event. We are extremely proud of the effort and resilience shown by all participants and thank the staff and families who supported students on the day.

School Uniform Expectations

As we continue through the cooler months of Term 2, we would like to remind families of the importance of students wearing the correct school uniform each day. Wearing school uniform helps promote a sense of belonging, pride and consistency across our school community. We ask families to please ensure students attend school in full school uniform, including appropriate footwear and outerwear in line with our school expectations.

Detailed information regarding uniform requirements can be found in the school’s Uniform Policy on the school website.

We understand that there may be circumstances where families require additional support in accessing school uniform items. Families are encouraged to contact our administration team to arrange a confidential conversation so we can work together to provide support where needed. If your child is out-of uniform please write a note that will be kept by the classroom teacher.

 Continued Professional Learning for Staff

At our school, we remain committed to ongoing professional learning to ensure we continue providing high-quality teaching, learning and wellbeing support for all students. Throughout Term 2, staff are participating in a range of professional learning opportunities focused on strengthening evidence-based teaching practices, improving student engagement and supporting student wellbeing outcomes. This includes collaboration with colleagues, instructional coaching, curriculum development and wellbeing training to further build staff capacity across all areas of the school.

We are proud of the strong professional culture within our school and the commitment our staff demonstrate towards continuous improvement and excellence in education.

Welcoming New Staff to Our School Community

We are delighted to officially welcome several new staff members who joined our school community at the beginning of Term 2.

Please join me in warmly welcoming Ms Sarakate Byrnes, Ms Mary Linnet and Mr Sachith Nanayakkara who have both joined our Education Support team.

All three staff members have already made a wonderful contribution to our school through their enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment to supporting students. We are excited to have them as part of our team and know they will play an important role in supporting student learning and wellbeing across the school.

We look forward to the positive impact they will continue to make throughout the year and encourage our community to make them feel welcome as they settle into our school.

As always thank you to our staff, students and families for their support of our school.

Kindly,

Aisha Shariat
