9 & 10 August Plumbing Industry Expo at Convention Centre

A consortium of leading plumbing industry groups has come together to launch the WA Plumbing Industry Expo which will take place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) from Friday, 9 August to Saturday, 10 August 2024.

3 Week Bricklaying Job Ready Program 

First Course Starts 12 August

Students who are eager to begin an apprenticeship immediately after finishing this course are invited to join the 3 week Bricklaying Job-Ready Program

It's free for eligible students and provides them with a White Card. 

Students must be at least 15 years old to be eligible for this course. Students with L plates or P Plates are ideal  

Please find the course dates below 

  • Balga NMTAFE starting on the 12th of August.
  • Thornlie SMTAFE, starting on the 19th of August.
  • Bunbury SRTAFE, starting on the 30th of September.
  • Clarkson NMTAFE, starting on the 28th of October.
  • Rockingham SMTAFE, starting on the 4th of November.
  • Geraldton CRTAFE, starting on the 4th of November.

Applications Close 31 August: Construction Training Scholarship 

Each year, the Construction Training Fund (CTF) awards scholarships to Western Australian students passionate about the building industry.

Students in Years 10 or 11 interested in completing a pre-apprenticeship at school during Year 11 and/or 12 can apply for a pre apprentice.

Apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities are posted regularly on the Jobs and Skills Centre jobs board. You can also check the jobs boards that the WA Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) providers offer via their websites. The AASNs work closely with employers who are looking for apprentices and/or trainees – simply follow the links to see what opportunities they are currently advertising.

Pre-Apprenticeship Payment $250

Receive a $250 aard if you successfully complete a Certificate II pre-apprenticeship qualification acknowledged by the Construction Training Fund.
