2026 School Theme - Coherence
Dear Westbreen PS Families,
School Disco
What a fantastic night! It was wonderful to see so many of our students come along and enjoy the disco on Friday night, with almost 300 tickets being purchased for the event! The hall looked amazing with sparkly
decorations and lights. There were lots of popular songs and some disco classics including the Chicken Dance and the Macarena. A special thanks to the P&F and our many volunteers and staff who made the night possible. Many hands made light work of the end of night tidy up. It is events like these that exemplify the strong sense of community and team we have at Westbreen Primary School.
Interschool Sports finals
Well done to our Mixed Football team who played in a semi-final against Illim College. Our students played with great sportsmanship, encouraging one another to do their best. Congratulations to our Mixed Netball team who won their semi-final last Friday against St Marks Primary School. Both our Girls Football and Mixed Netball teams will now play in the grand final this Friday. Good luck to both teams!
Planning Week
A reminder that it is planning week this week, which means an adjusted timetable to enable our teachers to meet and plan together for Term 3. Planning days will be as follows:
Monday: Specialists
Tuesday: Foundation
Wednesday: Year 1 and 2
Thursday: Year 5 and 6
Friday: Year 3 and 4
Staffing update
We have recently advertised an ES position to cover Miss Zoe who will be finishing her role at the end of the term as she is completing her Teaching Degree. I hope you will join me in congratulating Zoe for this fantastic achievement – she will be a great addition to the teaching profession with a wide array of skills and knowledge gained from her time at Westbreen Primary School.
We have also advertised two classroom positions, to replace teachers who are leaving due to personal reasons. Both are celebrations; however they will be sorely missed by our school community, students and staff. My sincerest thanks to both Laura Hunter (1H) and Caitlyn Williams (1K) for their contributions to Team Westbreen.
End of Term Early Dismissal
A quick reminder that the end of the term is coming up on Friday the 26th of June and on the last day of term we will have an early dismissal time of 2:15pm. A reminder that TheirCare will be operating on the final day of term as well as over the holidays.
